The 1916 Voter Registration Rolls for Alameda Co., California, list William L. Downing, motorman, and Bertha M. Downing, housewife, both registered Democrats, at 412 48th St., Oakland.
(The 5231 Grove St. address is the same street address from which William’s brother Aude registered for the draft in 1917. In 1920 they were both back in Mesa Co., Colorado.)
