His obituary in the Decatur Herald-Review reported “Donald A. Robinson, 70, of Decatur died 3:52 a.m. Friday (May 25, 2001) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg.
Mr. Robinson was born November 19, 1930, in Warrensburg, the son of Charles A. and Mabel J. (Riddle) Robinson. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Decatur, retiring in 1986. He then worked for Bob Donnelly Automotive as a part-time driver. He was a member of First Christian Church of Decatur and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Sue Hawkins on February 3, 1952 in Decatur, IL.
Surviving are his wife; Daniel G. Robinson and friend Nancy Boyette of Bradenton, FL.; daughter, Susan R. Dudra and husband Paul of Decatur; sister, Ruth Gardner of Decatur; half sister, Ethel Taylor of Decatur; grandchildren, Patrick Dudra of Naperville; Pamela Sue Robinson of Decatur; step-grandchildren, Melanie Welch of Lincoln; Amy and Julie Boyette of Bradenton, FL.; great-granddaughter, Madison Craw of Decatur; great-step-grandchildren, Clayton and Davis Welch of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Donald E. Robinson, and brother, Orville Robinson.”
