Her obituary in the Decatur Herald-Review reported “Ruth A. Gardner, 78, of Decatur died 10:30 a.m. Sunday (April 18, 2004) in Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur.
Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff Colonial Chapel North with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Mrs. Gardner was born March 6, 1926, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Charles A. and Mabel (Riddle) Robinson. She was a waitress at Swartz Restaurant and Grand Grill. She married Donald J. Gardner on July 29, 1962. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1991.
Surviving are her sons, Terry William Waite of Decatur, IL.; Jim Waite of Woodland Park, CO.; daughter, Sherry Miller and husband Michael of Tuscola, IL.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother and two sisters.”
