There are two death certificates for him, with very similar information except for the cause of death, the informant, and the mother’s given name.
The first one, numbered 13732, records John Wesley Snedegar, age 74 years 4 months 2 days, born 13 Feb 1857 in Kentucky, date of death “supposed to have been 6/14/1931” in Bath Co., Ky, married, husband of Pickett Metcalf Snedegar, occupation carpenter, father Isaac Snedegar, mother’s maiden name Margaret Arrasmith, both born in Kentucky, cause of death “held an inquest on him 6/22/31 apoplexy or heart failure”, informant Mrs. Amos Bailey, Owingsville R.R. 4, burial in Snedegar graveyard. The medical section is signed by S. C. Alexander, M.D., Coronorer of Bath Co., Ky, and dated 27 June 1931. The registrar’s section is dated 1 July 1931 and signed .
The other one, numbered 27347, has the same information except that the death date is simply recorded as June 14, 1931 without the “supposed to be” caveat, the place of death is specified as Owingsvlille, the mother’s maiden name is Elizabeth Arrasmith, the informant is Mrs. Dee Jones, Owingsville, the cause of death is “found dead in barn had been dead several days”, the medical section is signed Espie Warner, Coroner of Bath Co. and dated 15 June 1931, and the registrar’s section is dated 29 Sep 1952 (!) and signed Mrs. Pearl Brosten.
