Notes for James Ingram
According to the obituary of his daughter Eliza’s husband Enoch Foley, James was killed during the Civil War. Since he would have been in his early fifties during the war, though, it is likely that he was not enlisted in the Army, but was rather the victim of marauders. (Since most of the young men were sent off to war in other states, the middle aged men formed home guards to fight against the roving bands of rebels who went about confiscating horses and livestock.)
Notes for James & Margaret (Family)
Bath Co., Ky marriage bonds record the marriage of James Ingram and Margaret Jackson on 4 Aug 1818, bondsman George Welch.
There were probably about two children born to this marriage between 1829 and 1832 who had already left home by 1850.
