His obituary in the Frankfort State Journal reported “John Milton Pribble, 80, of the Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling passed away Dec. 17, 2007 at the Ephram McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky.
He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on Nov. 19, 1927 the son of the late Mayor Harley B. Pribble, Sr. and Ruth Stevens Pribble. He was a retired employee of the Department of Unemployment Insurance where he worked for 46 1/2 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Cockrell and Ann Ruth Pribble and one brother, William Pribble.
He is survived by one son, Stanley (Ann) Hulker of Frankfort, a granddaughter, Kim (Carl) Harris of Lexington, KY; two great grandchildren, Savannah and Carlie Harris. One brother, H. B. (Nancy) Pribble, Jr of Mt. Sterling; a sister in law, Sophia Pribble of Austin, Texas; four nieces, Judy (Tom) Byron of Owingsville, KY, Dudley (Ken) Robertson of Lexington, KY, Emily (Larry) Cockrell of Mt. Sterling, and Marilyn (Chris) Kennison of Austin, TX; one nephew, David (Deb) Pribble of Williamsburg, VA; a good friend, Buster Shultz of Mt. Sterling and several cousins, great nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 at the Machpelah Cemetery with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
