Census
1850 census of Morgan Co., Ky, enumerated 7 Oct, lists on p. 168 as family #1112:
James H. Williams, 26, farmer; Sarah, 26; Lucinda, 3; Telitha, 1. All born in Kentucky.
The preceding household is headed by Isaac Williams age 52, whom some have identified as James’ father. But since that household includes a son James age 15, it seems unlikely that Isaac would have two sons by the same name. On the other hand, there is probably some close relationship, because in 1870 they have both moved to Magoffin County, and are still neighbors. Most likely James is the son of one of Isaac’s brothers.
