1860 census of Morgan Co., Ky, district 1, enumerated 17 July, lists on p. 72 as family #444/440:
Miles Scaggs, 36, farmer; Eliza A., 26; Amos, 8; John H., 6; Amanda J., 5; Allice, 1. All born in Kentucky.
The next family is that of my great-great-great grandfather Samuel Pettit, with his second wife Rebecca Foster.
1870 census of Elliott Co., Ky, precinct 5, Newfoundland P.O., enumerated 15 Aug, lists on p. 19 as family #134:
Skaggs, Miles, 48, farmer; Louisa, 36; Amos, 18; John, 16; Amanda, 14; Allia, 12; Martha, 10; Nancy E., 6; George W., 4; Solomon, 1. All born in Kentucky.
(This would probably be the same wife he had in 1860 - for some reason Eliza and Louisa were used fairly interchangeably in the 1800’s.)
The next two households are headed by Peter Skaggs, age 55, and Amos Skaggs, age 60. The latter has living with him a Ruth Skaggs, age 90, who is probably the mother of all three.
1880 census of Greenup Co., Ky, Old Town precinct, enumerated in June, lists on p. 12 as family #90/103:
Scaggs, Miles, 55, laborer, b. Ky Va Va; Elizabeth A., 53, wife, b. Ky Ky Ky; George W., 15, son; Solomon C., 11; Lynn, 9, dau; William, 6, son. All children born Ky Ky Ky.
The next household is headed by Robert L. Chambers, with a wife Alice age 21 who is probably their daughter, and the one after that is headed by their son John H. Scaggs.
