“Betty M. Callahan of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 15 days.
She was born on Saturday, August 19, 1933, in Morgan County, KY, a daughter of the late William Henry and Lillie Dora Perry Sexton.
She was united in marriage to William Donald Callahan. This union was blessed with eight children. She was a homemaker devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the House of Prayer at Morehead, KY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Callahan; three infant children, Rosie Linda Callahan, Brenda Katherine Callahan, and Ivy Fern Callahan; and three brothers, Wilburn Sexton, Abraham Sexton, and Ulyesses Sexton.
She is survived by five children, William Larry Callahan, Janice Cockerham, Francis Elam, Irvin Callahan, and Lucy Day all of West Liberty, KY; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, James Paul Sexton, William Ishmael Sexton, and Johnny Sexton all of West Liberty, KY; and five sisters, Christine McClurg, Rosetta Hunt, Wilma Clevenger, Margaret Sargent, and Helen Lewis all of West Liberty, KY.
Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 7, 2010, at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. Winston McClurg, Bro. Eugene Haney, Bro. Glen Day, and Bro. Kenneth Cockerham officiating. Burial to follow in the Perry Cemetery, Blairs Mill, KY.
Visitation after 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
