Be careful not to confuse him with his uncle Henry Lewis Purvis, 19 Jul 1871 - 15 Jan 1953. (They were, in reality, nearly a decade apart in age, but since this Henry underwent “age inflation” in his later years, their reported birthdates get very close together, causing some people on Ancestry to confuse their death dates.)
His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records Heny Lawernce Pervis, age 38, residence Salt Lick, Bath Co., Ky, born 30 May 1880, farmer, nearest relative Berhy Pervis, Salt Lick. (The reported birthdate cannot be accurate, since his parents were recorded as childless in the 1880 census, in late June 1880. Theoretically it could be off by a month or so, but since he was reported in the 1900 census as born in May 1881, it is very likely to be off by a year.)
His gravestone says Henry Lawrence Purvis, 1872 - 1968.
The Kentucky death index lists Henry L. Purvis, age 95, died 9 June 1968 in Bourbon Co., residence same.
