In the 1860 census she is recorded as Maranda S. age 5, and in the 1870 census as Maranda age 16.
Her death certificate records Miranda S. Hamilton, age 68 years 4 months 7 days, born 17 April 1854 in Morgan Co., Ky, date of death blank, died in Ezel, Morgan Co., Ky, married, father J. S. Elam, mother’s maiden name Mary Howardton, both born in Morgan Co., Ky, cause of death heart failure had no doctor, informant Richard Hamilton, Ezel, Ky, burial on Sep 15, 1922 in Claypool Cem.
The reported birthdate is inconsistent with her birth record, but adding the reported age at death to it would yield a death date of 14 Sep 1922.
In the 1860 census she is recorded as Maranda S. age 5, and in the 1870 census as Maranda age 16.
