Her obituary reported Amanda A. Caudill, Ware Road, Waynesburg, died Friday, August 15, 1997 at Stanford House Nursing Home. She was 97 years old.
Born in Casey County on August 18, 1899, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Mary Elizabeth Godbey Bastin. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Olive Christian Church. She was well known for her beautiful quilts and the widow of Matthew Caudill.
Survivors include five daughters, Edna Mae Ware and Deva Jean Jones, both of Waynesbug, Effie Marie Sims of Kings Mountain, Mary Nancy Moore of Cincinnati and Darlena B. Broady of Litchefield, Minn., a brother, John Quincy Bastin of Mt. Olive; 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Otha Ray and Franklin D. Caudill; three brothers, William Henry, Green Lee and Harvey B. Bastin; and three sisters, Sarah Elizabeth Morgan, Lucretia Emerson and Matilda Jane Caudill.
Funeral services were August 18 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home in Waynesburg with Bro. Mike Roberts and Rev. Greg Powell officiating. Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Waynesburg Rescue Squad.”
