Based on Bath Co. birth records, Thomas and Margaret should both be 43. (This census taker makes I and J very similar, so my transcription of the initials for Laura and Samuel might be wrong. But they look more like the beginning of Ida (there is also an Isabelle on the page) than they do that of John (there are many J names) - they look the same at the bottom, but at the top the J’s loop more to the right, and the I’s loop more to the left.)
