His obituary in the Woodford Sun of 28 Feb 2002 reported:
“Kenneth W. “Grasshopper” Coyle, 91, of Versailles, husband of Emma Coyle, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born Jan. 26, 1911, he was the son of the late John and Martha Honaker Coyle. He was a retired employee for the City of Versailles, and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Nettie Hartley, Versailles; a son, William Albert Coyle, Florida; Karen Rice, who Mr. Coyle raised; a half-brother, Frank Clark, Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Kenneth Lyle and the Rev. Estill Everman. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were Michael Hartley, Daniel White, Scotty Forkner, John Coyle, K.C. Coyle, Barry Slatten, and Paul Wright. Honorary bearers were J.T. Wright, Elwood Puckett, Don Estepp, Ronnie Rose, Harry Eaves, Lewis Walton, and Shaka Wilson.”
