A permission note from Sarah Smith and William Smith gives consent for Sarah’s daughter Phebe Turner to marry John Spencer. (William was Sarah’s second husband; she was born Sarah Parsons and previously married to Joseph Turner, who died when Phoebe was just one or two.) The consent note states that Phebe is sixteen years old.
