“James Homer Staton, Age 82 of Trenton, Ohio passed away at his residence Monday, December 18, 2006. He was born July 19, 1924 in Middletown, Ohio to Chester Harley and Nettie Mae (Peck) Staton. James worked at Armco, Sulfsted's Bakery, Meadow Gold and French Bauer Dairies and retired from Branch Motor Freight in 1984. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1577 in Camden. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed working in his yard. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. James was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William C. Staton. He is survived by his wife Dorothy A. (Richards) Staton, they would have been married 59 years on Jan. 3, 2007; sons, James C. (Marcy) Staton, Richard (Betty) Staton and Jeffrey A. Staton; daughters, Brenda D. (Randy) Bluhm and Paula J. (Mark) Schmidt; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Jean (Delano) Mann; sister-in-law, Elinora Staton and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2006 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, December 22, 2006 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Betsy Williams officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military rites by the American Legion Honor Guard.”
