His obituary in the Owingsville Outlook reported:
“John Morgan Ginter Passes At Olympia --- John Morgan Ginter, 78 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herbie Swarz, at Olympia Monday, December 1, after a long illness.
He was a son of the late William Henry Ginter, born in this county June 14, 1863.
Besides Mrs. Swartz, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Vernor Hatton, Winchester; Mrs. Willie Wells, Lexington; Mrs. Jessie Hatton, Austin, Ind; Mrs. Henry Thompson, Olympia; seven sons, Albert Ginter, Winchester; Jerry Ginter, Bath county; Ed Ginter, Clark county; Jonathan Ginter, Ashland; Tom Brown Ginter and Newton Ginter. He is also survived by four step-children, Cecil Hatton, Mrs. Arthur Jones, Sidney Hatton of Mt. Sterling and Sherman Hatton of Owingsville.
Funeral services were held at the Olympia Christian Church Tuesday afternoon, December 2, conducted by the Rev. Tommie Crouch. Burial was in Old Fields cemetery.”
