There were two Bertha James in Carter Co. less than one year apart in age, one of whom married John William Fraley, and the other of whom married his brother Noah Samuel Fraley. The way to tell which Bertha married which Fraley brother is the 1920 census, where this couple was living next door to Jefferson and Dallie James, while Samuel Fraley was living with the family of Ned and Hattie James, listed as son in law.
