His obituary in the Portsmouth Daily Times of Friday, Feb 5, 1960 reported:
“Ballus Fraley, 50, died at 3:15am today at the home of a sister, Mrs. William M. Lands of Lucasville, Rt 4, with whom he had been residing. Mr. Fraley was born in Elliott Co KY, June 18, 1900, a son of Uriah and Linnie Hannah Fraley. He is survived by nine brothers, Ballard, Ebb and Dave of Portsmouth, John W. of Sciotoville Rt 2, George of Pittsburgh, PA, Linza of Trinity, KY, Columbus of Wheelersburg, Elza of Eden Park and Thurman of Overt, Michigan; and two sisters, Mrs. Lands and Mrs. Martha Swanson of Rochester, Ind. Funeral services are to be conducted at 2pm Sunday at Garden City Free Will Baptist church. Revs. henry Hawkins and Ed Purcell are to officiate. Interment is to be in Memorial Park Cemetery.”
