Census Notes for Joseph & Mary Jane (Family)

Highley, Jos, 22, farmer; Jane, 23; James, 24; Mary, 22; Manda, 1/12.
1880 census of Bath Co., Ky, White Sulphur precinct, enumerated 8 June, lists on p. 10 as family #92/95:
Hiley, Joseph, 36, farmer; Mary J., 34, wife; Epeson, James Robert, 26, brother; Hiley, George, 18, cousin; Amanda E., 19. All born in Kentucky.
George is the son of Joseph’s uncle George W. Highley and Elizabeth Shrout. The “brother” relationship for James Robert is wrong; he is the son of Jackson Epperson and Polly Ann Johnson, and no apparent relation to Joseph at all. He is probably a cousin of George’s wife Amanda Ellen, daughter of James M. Epperson and Hannah Blevins.
