Her obituary in the Middletown Journal of Aug. 27, 1957 reported:
“Mrs. Addie Rose, 77, of 4530 Central Ave., died at 1:15am yesterday at Middletown Hospital, where she had been a patient since Aug 14.
A native of Frenchburg, Ky., she came to Middletown from West Liberty, Ky., in 1933 following the death of her husband, James R. Rose.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Derinda Duncan and Mrs. Myrtle Tilton, with whom she made her home, Mrs. Roxie Bradshaw of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Florence Frisby of Trenton; two sons, Stamper and I. W. Rose, both of Middletown; a sister, Mrs. Phoebe McKenzie of Middletown; two brothers, Tom Stamper of Freedom, Pa., and Will Stamper of LeRoy, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2pm Thursday at the McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Lovell officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 9 to 9pm tomorrow.”
