“EGAN, DONALD E. - age 74, devoted Christian, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, born in Sharkey, Kentucky, CEO and founder of Egan Hardwood Sales and Design, passed away on his birthday, February 1, 2011 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Hazel Egan; brother, Roger Egan and daughter, Kelli Ann Egan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jerrie; brother, Philip and Marty Egan; sons and daughter-in-laws, Jeff and Donna, Mike and Kim, Rusty and Julia; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Jim Hughes; granddaughter Hannah; grandsons, Greylan, Noah, Gavin and Kegan; nieces, Sarena Northern and Amy Hancock; several cousins, many lifelong friends and business associates. Special thanks to a special friend, Dr. David Rankin. Also, thanks to the nurses and staff at UT Hospital. Funeral service 8:00 pm Friday Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Dr. Bruce Marston officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Boys and Girls Club, 1819 Dry Gap Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918 or Halls Welfare Ministry, 4329 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37938. Family and friends will meet 10:15 am Saturday at the funeral home and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for 11:00 am interment. Pallbearers will be Jeff Ambrister, Tim Bodie, Tom Bodie, Jr., Porter Brown, Greg Holt, Jim Hughes, Matt Nelson and Russ Rutherford. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Beam, Tom Bodie, Sr., Jim Bunch, James Clevenger, J. D. Cox, Jim Huffman, David Sharp, Noonie Whitaker and grandchildren.”
