The Kentucky birth index lists Kenneth S. Fugate, born 7 Dec 1925 in Morgan Co., mother’s maiden name Bulah Uterback. It also lists Kenneth S. Fugate, born 7 Dec 1925 in Morgan Co., mother’s maiden name Beulah Utterback. The second one is a delayed certificate, filed in 1943.
The SSDI lists K. S. Fugate, born 7 Dec 1925, died 28 Jan 2010, last residence Oliver Springs, Morgan Co., Tennessee.
His obituary in the Roane County [North Carolina] News reported “Kenneth Samuel Fugate, 84, of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in NHC of Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Mark Fugate, and his parents, Elmer and Beulah Peyton.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Sewell Fugate, Oliver Springs; his stepmother, Bertha Peyton, Ohio; six children; Bonnie Herrell, Powell, Brenda Dyer and Donna Sewell, both of Oak Ridge, Paul Fugate and Martha McCarter, both of Oliver Springs, and David Fugate, Nashville.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, in Anderson Memorial Gardens, Clinton, with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.”
Elmer and Beulah Peyton are presumably Kenneth’s adoptive parents.
