The reported birth place is probably incorrect; her parents were recorded in the 1870 census in Christy Creek precinct of Rowan Co. in June 1870, just two months before she was reportedly born. It is somewhat unlikely they would move that summer when Elizabeth was nearly due and when crops would be in the ground. The only way I can see her being born in Elliott Co would be if her mother was visiting relatives, or if the reported year of birth is wrong and she was really born in 1871.
