The reported ages are inconsistent with birth and census records, which indicate an age of 24 for George and 22 for Missouri. His death certificate, though, confirms that it was the son of David Shrout and Cynthia Wright who married Missouri Wells, and not his second cousin George W. Shrout born 13 Feb 1853, son of Isaac D. Shrout and Lucy Wright.
