His obituary in the Ashland Daily Independent reported:
“Jack W. Taylor, 72, of Flatwoods, died Saturday, Dec. 8, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Taylor was born Nov. 2, 1935, in Morehead, a son of the late Ted and Lenora Amburgy Taylor.
He was retired as a clerk with CSX Railroad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ace and Sonny Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Janet King Taylor of Flatwoods; two sons, Jack Taylor of Raceland and Greg Taylor of Flatwoods; a daughter, Judy Taylor-Lewis of Argillite; a grandson, Jason Taylor; a great-grandson, Christian Michael Frazier; and four sisters, Barbara McKee of Raceland, Fern Cooper of Dayton, Ohio, Patty Boston of Sarasota, Fla., and Debbie Mosser of Kenova.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home in Ironton by Pastor Chuck Lawrence.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.”
