Her obituary in the Anderson [Indiana] Herald-Bulletin of Sunday, 7 Jan 1990 reported:
“Mossie L. Tripet, 78, 2401 W. 27th St., died at home Friday evening following an extended illness.
She was born in Estill County, Ky, and resided a short time in New Jersey before moving to Anderson where she lived most of her life. She retired in 1968 as a headlight assembly worker for then Guide Lamp Division. She was a member of UAW Local 663, World War II Mothers, Red Men’s Lodge in Dennisville, N.J., and Grace Baptist Church in South Seaville, N.J.
Her husband, Preston Tripet, died in 1980.
Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Clark of Bradenton, Fla, and Katherine Stephenson and Nellie Babcock, both of Anderson; three sons, Jerald Haggard and Robert Haggard, both of Ligonier, and James A. Haggard of Anderson; five sisters, Elizabeth Newby of Youngstown, Ariz., Willie Jo Huls of Winchester, Ky, Frances Pullen of Georgetown, Ky, and Ada Holdeman of Portland; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, 17 step grandchildren, and 25 step great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Weston & McClain Funeral Home, 2223 Nichol Ave., with the Rev. Diane Coats officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.”
