Basford, father William Moore, born in Ky, mother’s maiden name Celia Ingle, birthplace don’t know, cause of death cerebral hemorrhage, informant James Basford, Hillsboro, Ky, burial in Siloam graveyard.

Her gravestone has her birthdate as March 8, 1860, but she was recorded as age 1 in the 1860 census and age 12 in 1870.

1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Cross Roads precinct, enumerated 1 June, lists on p. 15 as family #120/134:
Basford, John, 21, farmer; Elizabeth, 18, wife; Margaret Ingall, 12, cousin; Moore, John, 40, boarder, R.R. laborer. All born Ky Ky Ky.

1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 15 June, lists on p. 13B as family #251:
Basford, Robt, 41, b. Mar 1859, farmer; Lizzie, wife, 38, b. Apr 1862, married 20 years, mother of 6 children, 6 living; Charley, son, 19, b. Dec 1880; Minnie, dau, 17, b. Mar 1883; James, son, 14, b. Nov 1885; Mahala, dau, 12, b. Jan 1888; Blanch, dau, 9, b. Nov 1890; Willie, son, 6, b. June 1893. All born Ky Ky Ky.

This is the only record I’ve seen that shows Robert as the name of the head of this family. I do not know if John had three given names, or it was just a recording error.

The next household is headed by my great-great-uncle William T. Hall with wife Sarah, and daughter Clora age 15, who would later marry Charley Basford, as his second wife and her third husband.
