The reported birth date is at least three years early; he was not in the family in the 1900 census, and he was recorded as 6 in 1910 and 16 in 1920. Assuming the February part is corrent, the 1900 reading, being taken in April, would imply a birthdate in 1904, and the 1920 record, being taken in January, would imply a birthdate in 1903.
The Kentucky death index lists Taulbee Hunt, age 84, died 3 Sep 1989 in Rowan Co., residence Bath Co. That age at death implies a birthdate in 1905. We can probably safely conclude that Taulbee was unsure which year he was born.
