It’s an odd reporting of the relationships. Since Joseph Felts is employed and is the father of most of the household members, with John Smith being a young newlywed, the usual way of recording this family would be to report him as the head, with John being his son-in-law, or perhaps break it into two family heads sharing a dwelling each with their own number.
