Notes for James Albert Wright
His death certificate records J. A. Wright, age 88 years 3 months 26 days, born 25 Mar 1831 in Kentucky, died 21 July 1919 in Owingsville precinct, Bath Co., Ky, widowed, father Flem Wright, born in Ky, mother’s maiden name Sharpe, birthplace blank, burial in Wright graveyard.
Notes for Elizabeth Sharp
Her death certificate records Elizabeth Wright, age 82 years 10 months, born 5 April 1831 in Bath Co., died 5 Feb 1913 in Owingsville precinct, Bath Co., Ky, married, father David Sharp, birthplace don’t know, mother’s maiden name don’t know, cause of death organic heart disease & pulm-- phhthymus, informant Dr. F. P. Gudsell, Owingville, burial in Wright graveyard. (The handwriting is messy and hard to read. The word before phhthymus is not pulmonary, because it has no tail.)
The reported father is probably in error. She was recorded in the 1850 census with the family of George and Julia Sharp(e), in age order, so she was very likely to be their daughter. (Relatives other than children are usually listed at the end.)
Notes for James Albert & Elizabeth (Family)
Their marriage was reported in the annual reports to the Kentucky state auditor from both Montgomery Co. and Bath Co. They agree on the date of 6 Dec 1853 and that both spouses are single, but the other data is recorded slightly differently. The Bath Co report lists the groom and bride as James A. Wright, age 22, born in and resident of Bath Co., and Elizabeth Wright, age 21, born in Bourbon Co., resident of Montgomery Co., while the Montgomery Co. report lists them as Albert Wright and Elizabeth Sharp, both residents of Mongtomery Co., birth places blank and ages unknown.
