His gravestone (a double one with Opal) has years only, and gives his dates as 1909-1985, but the birth year on the stone is incorrect, since he does not appear in the 1910 census.
Be careful not to confuse him with Delbert Newsome born 18 May 1911 in Pike Co., Ky, son of Daniel David Newsome and Celia Johnson.
