Census
Since Nancy died before 1840, she does not appear by name in any census.
1830 census of Bourbon Co., Ky, lists:
Fielder Moreland, 1 male 30-39, 1 male 10-14, 1 male under 5; 1 female 20-29, 1 female 5-9, 2 females under 5, 1 female 50-59.
I cannot find Fielder as a head of household in the 1840 census. Most likely he moved in with a relative after Nancy died. There are seven Moreland households in Bath Co., two in Bourbon Co., and two in Fleming Co., but none of them seem to have a male in the right age bracket who is not the head of household.
1850 census of Bath Co., Ky, district 1, enumerated 9 Aug, lists on p. 45 as family #326:
Fielder Moreland, 56; Mary, 40; Alexander, 20; Elizabeth, 19; Sarah A., 11; Lydia M., 9; John J., 1. Robert Bailey, 14; David, 11; Malvina, 9; William, 7. Nancy J. Moreland, 2. All born in Kentucky.
Alexander through Lydia Moreland are presumably children of Fielder and his first wife Nancy Graham. John is probably a son of Fielder and Mary. Nancy J. Moreland is most likely a niece or granddaughter, since she is listed out of age order.
