Be careful not to confuse him with Lewis M. Ratliff (b. 20 Mar 1856 in Morgan Co, d. 12 Dec 1931 in Rowan Co), son of Silas K. Ratliff and Nancy Harper.

Her death certificate records Jannie Ratliff, age 59 years 9 months 2 days, born 28 Mar 1870 in Rowan Co., died 30 Dec 1929 in Farmers, Rowan Co., Kentucky, widow, father Robert Hayden, mother’s maiden name Jane Reeves, both born in Ky, cause of death burns, contributory cause insanity, informant Caleb Ratliff, Sharkey, burial in Reeves Cemy, Hillsboro.

Her maiden name is spelled “Haden” in both the 1870 and 1880 censuses, in Hillsboro, and her parents were living there in 1860 as well, so it is very likely she was born there instead of Rowan Co.

Rowan Co., Ky marriage book 1, p. 164, lists a marriage license issued on 28 Feb 1888 to Sanford Ratliff and Jennie Haden, bond surety by Robert Haden. Marriage register A, p. 14, records the marriage was performed 1 Mar 1888.
