The SSDI lists Oakie Meeks, born 4 Nov 1904, died 30 Apr 1992, SSN issued in Kentucky in 1973.

The reported birth date is probably off by one year. She was recorded as age 4 in 1910 and age 14 in 1920.
The birth records for two of her children (Jeanette and Thelma Ruth) list her maiden name as Hall. Those for the other three list it as Rose, as do both her childhood census records. I don’t know where the Hall comes from. It may be a middle name, or perhaps it is the surname of her father’s father. (Before the days of so much official record keeping, it was very common for children born out of wedlock with acknowledged fathers to randomly use both surnames.)
