His WW I draft registration card, filed 5 June 1917 in Raleigh Co., WV, records James Daniel Lawson, age 26, residence Waltz, Rowan Co., Ky, born 24 May 1891 in Triplett, Kentucky, occupation lumberman, employer W. M. Ritter Lumber, Maben, W. Va, single supporting mother, exemption claimed due to crippled limb (but the physical description section on the back says no disabilities.)
Unless William Lawson was married twince, the birth date is probably wrong by at least one year, possibly two, since his parents were not married until Sep 1892. In the 1910 census he is listed as age 18. Unfortunately I cannot find his parents (or grandparents) in the 1900 census.
His WW II draft registration card, filed 27 Apr 1942, records James Daniel Lawson, age 49, residence South Webster, Scioto Co., Ohio, born 24 May 1892 in Rown Co., Kentucky, unemployed, contact Mary Rose Lawson, South Webster, Ohio.
The SSDI lists James Lawson, born 24 May 1892, died June 1978, last residence Beaver, Pike Co., Ohio.
