Notes for Burleigh Reeves & Barbara Josephine (Family)
An article in The [Portland] Oregonian of Sunday, June 13, 1936 reported:

“Quesenberry-Townsend - A wedding of the week was that of Miss Josephine Townsend, daughter of Mrs. J. W. Townsend, and Burleigh R. Quesinberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walker Quesinberry, at the home of the bride’s brother, W. E. Townsend, on the Columbia river highway.

The wedding march was played by Mrs. Herman Bouchet and Mrs. Elbert Stone sang.

The bride entered with her brother and was gowned in a sleeveless frock of satin and georgette trimmed with crystals. Her tulle veil was full length, caught in a cap adorned with lace and satin ribbon and a wreath of orange blossoms, which was worn by her mother 35 years ago. She carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses, orchids and lilies of the valley.

Miss Myrtle Morenson, as bridesmaid, was attractive in orchid georgette over pink satin. Little Alice Stone was a dainty flower girl in her frock of pink. Francis Peak acted as best man.

The bride is a former student of the University of Oregon and a graduate of the Oregon Normal school. Mr. Quesinberry is a student at the North Pacific college of dentistry. They will make their home in Bandon for the summer.”

The society section of the same paper two weeks published a photograph of the bride in her veil, captioned “Mrs. Burleigh R. Quesinberry, (Josephine Townsend), married recently.”

Burleigh died five months after the wedding.
