His obituary in the Augusta [Ga] Chronicle of Wed, Sep. 6, 2000 reported:
“Mr. Larry R. Thompson, 55, of Martinez, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Doctors Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Platt’s Funeral Home, Belair Road, Evans, with the Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown.
Mr. Thompson, a native of Lebanon, Pa., was a Navy veteran and a pipe fitter. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 630, West Palm Beach, Fla., and West Acres Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Thompson; a son, Larry Michael Thompson, Martinez; a daughter, Teresa Lynn Sanders, Martinez; his mother, Garnet Brickey, Martinex; and a grandchild.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1725, Augusta, GA 30903-1725.”
