The Kentucky birth index lists Howard C. Ramey, born 17 July 1911 in Green Co., mother’s maiden name Louia Ramey.
The SSDI lists Howard Ramey, born 17 July 1911, died Nov 1978, last residence Clearfield, Rowan Co., Kentucky, last benefit sent to Morehead, Rowan Co., Kentucky.
The Kentucky death index lists Howard C. Ramey, age 67, died 23 Nov 1978 in Rowan Co., residence same.
I do not know for sure who his parents were. He is recorded in the 1920 census with the widowed Artie Ramey as Howard Ramey, age 8, grandson. Jeremiah is also recorded in that household, as widowed. Another possiblity is that he was born out of wedlock to Lucy Ann Ramey - Louia would be a plausible mistranscription of her name. It seems somewhat less likely, though, because he is not living with Lucy and her husband Wiley Stamper in the 1920 census.

Ramey, Artie, 58, widowed, no occupation; Jerry, son, 40, widowed; Jeff, son, 27, single; Newt, son, 25, single; Morgan, son, 23, single; Howard, grandson, 8. All born Ky Ky Ky. All sons are recorded as laborers at a saw mill.
1930 census of Rowan Co., Kentucky, Farmers precinct, enumerated 12 April, lists on p. 2A as family #94/95:
Ramey, Jeff, 36, farmer, single; Jerry, brother, 44, widowed, age at first marriage 30, occupation none; Lucy, sister, 42, widowed, age at first marriage 22; Brilliant, nephew, 14; Clifford, nephew, 12. All born Ky Ky Ky.
The nephew listed as Clifford age 12 is almost certainly the same nephew who is recorded as age 28 in the 1940 census, see below. There is no son Clifford living with Lucy in the 1920 census, and it would be a very unusual coincidence for two different nephews named Clifford Ramey to be living with Jeff in consecutive censuses, each of whom did not appear in the other census year.
