The death date was mistakenly entered into both the birth and death fields. The zero months and days is probably a secondary error derived from that one. In the 1900 census, he was recorded as age 54 born Mar 1846, and in the 1860 census as age 14. (I have not identified him in the 1850 census; he is not included in 1850 with the same Elijah Smith and Lucinda Blanton family with whom he is living in 1860.)

Her death certificate records Nancy Smith, age 79 years 8 days, born 1 Jan 1846 in Ky, died 8 Jan 1925 in Harris precinct, Lewis Co., Ky, widowed, father Jessie Eldridge, mother’s maiden name Mary Pugh, both born in Ky, cause of death stomach trouble, informant W. G. Butler, Fitch, burial in Walnut Grove.

The reported age and birth date are probably off by two years. She was recorded as age 2 in the 1850 census and age 12 in 1860.
