The Kentucky death index lists Anna M. Johnson, age 86, died 27 Mar 1973 in Rowan Co., residence same.

Her name is on a double stone with Amos in New Alfrey Cemetery as Anna Mae Pettit, and the years 1887-1973, but she is not necessarily buried there. Double stones are often installed when the first spouse dies.

The marriage license of Bessie Lee Pettit in 1937 records her parents as “Amos Pettit and Anna Mae Pettit (now Johnson)”.
