1870 census of Bath Co., Ky, Mudlick precinct, enumerated 12 Aug, lists on p. 22 as family #160/162:
Rose, Powell, 38, farmer; Mary, 37; Allice, 5; Margaret, 3; infant (female), 6/12, b. Feb. All born in Ky.
The ages for Powell and Mary in this census are very inconsistent with other census years. Powell should be 31, and Mary should be 32. Alice and Margaret are also two years older than suggested by other records.
The next three households are headed by Griggs men in their 30’s - John Griggs age 32, William Griggs age 34, and Lee Griggs age 30. This suggests that Powell and Mary may be living on land she inherited from her father.
1880 census of Bath Co., Ky, Tanyard precinct, enumerated 11 June, lists on p. 18 as family #146/148:

In 1920 Mary was recorded with their granddaughter Lillie, daughter of Samuel Clark and Elva Rose, as Mary Rose, grandmother, 82, widowed, born Ky Ky Ky.
