Her obituary in the Roanoke Times of Sunday, April 23, 2000 reported:
“QUESENBERRY, Clydie Pearl Dalton, 97, of Indian Valley, passed away at her home Saturday, April 22, 2000. She was born May 24, 1902, to George W. and Cordelia F. Hurst Dalton. She married Hiram W. Quesenberry on November 3, 1926, he was a veteran of WW I. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1973.
She was a member of the Baptist Church, and LPN Nurse, and the Indian Valley Switchboard Operator. She also served as Weather observer for the Government for over 51 years.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews; and also by a dedicated team of care givers which allowed her to spend her last days at her home.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Presto Wines and the Rev. Gerald Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Capt. George Quesenberry Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 Noon Sunday, at Gardner Funeral Home, where the family will be from 7 until 9 p.m.”
