His obituary in the Southwest Times [Pulaski, VA] of Monday, Feb 15, 1954 reported:
“Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Montgomery Primitive Baptist church near Christiansburg for Homer Lee Duncan, with the Rev. Golden Harris in charge. Burial was in the Hickman cemetery in Pulaski county. The 65-year-old man was a resident of the Highland section near Dublin. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Grover L. Duncan, of Fairlawn, and Basil Duncan, of Richmond; four sisters, Mrs. Mintie Gray, Sophia, WV, Mrs. John Hawley, Christiansburg; Mrs. Lou Gensen, Onslaw, IA; Mrs. Ernest Dalton, Copper Valley; and three brothers, Columbus and John Duncan, Radford, and Lynch Duncan, Copper Valley. Five grandchildren also survive. ”
