The date of birth is probably off by two years. She was recorded as age 10 in the 1860 census, and a birthdate in Feb of 1848 or 1849 would conflict with the birth date of her older brother James, born in Oct 1848. (Unfortunately I cannot find this family in the 1850 census.)
