His obituary in the Ashland Daily Independent of Tues., Feb 4, 1986 reported:
“Clyde Barker, 76, of Ashland, died at 12:45 pm Monday in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Barker was born May 14, 1909 in Elliott County, a son of the late Robert and Lizzie Cassidy Barker. He retired as a brick wheeler from North American Refractories Co and was a member of Hoods Creek Falls United Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Lewis Barker; five daughters, Mrs. Josephine Fletcher and Mrs. Ray (Eva Jean) Fraley, both of Ashland, Connie Sue Arthur of Cannonsburg, Donna Culpepper of West Palm Beach, FL and Lovine Barker at home; a son, Audie Ralph Barker of West Liberty; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2pm Thursday at the Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by elders Guy Roark, Walter Napier and Harry M. Owens. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery.”
