His obituary reported:
“The graveside service for Ravis Glee Quesenberry, 77, of Bassett, who died March 27, 2011, at the Salem VA Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Patrick Memorial Gardens in Stuart with Kelly G. Ratcliff officiating. Flag presentation will be by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
He was born July 25, 1933, in Hillsville to Dewey Sampson Quesenberry and Ollie Mae Worrell Quesenberry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Vaughn; and two brothers, Connie Edward Quesenberry and Roy Chester Quesenberry. He served in the Army during the Korean War and had worked as a long-distance truck driver for Hennis Trucking Co. and later with Associate Transport before becoming disabled.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Jane Shockley Quesenberry of the home; a son, Jeffery Steven Quesenberry of Bassett; a sister, Glenna Q. Ayers of Pulaski; two brothers, Avis Quesenberry of Oak Level and Paul Quesenberry of Hillsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Community Funeral Service in Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.”
