His obituary in the Morehead News of Friday, 1 Mar 1991 reported:
“SALT LICK - David W. Cassity, 78, of 23 White Avenue, Mt. Sterling, died Friday, Feb. 22, at Mary Chiles Hospital after a brief illness. Born Nov. 19, 1912 in Bath County, he was the son of the late James and Katherine Hunt Cassity. Mr. Cassity was a retired employee of Kentucky Utilities Company and a member of the Salt Lick Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Manie Katherine Green Cassity; two daughters, Sandra Pittman and Kitty Jo Moore, both of Mt. Sterling. Three brothers, Jack Cassity and James Cassity, both of Salt Lick, and Milton Cassity of Kansas. Services were conducted Feb. 25 at the Salt Lick Christian Church with Rev. James Quisenberry officiating. Burial was in Dickerson Cemetery. Deacons of the Salt Lick Christian Church served as pallbearers. Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.”
