1860 census of Magoffin Co., Ky, Licking Station P.O., enumerated 24 June, lists on p. 77 as family #527:
James May Jr., 49, farmer; Elizabeth, 44; Thomas, 18; Emily, 14; Franklin, 13; Evaline Conley, 15; Elizabeth F. Conley, 10; Percilla May, 5; Leander, 3; Harmon, 11/12.
This is a blended family. The first three children are from James’ marriage to Matilda Whitaker, the next two are from Elizabeth’s marriage to John Conley, and the youngest three are their joint children. Emily may be the daughter listed as Mary age 3 in 1850, when there was no child listed between Thomas age 8 and Franklin age 5. The image is very faded, so some of the ages may be misread. (Only the vertical strokes are very visible.) The 1850 census suggests that Evaline Conley should be 16 and Elizabeth 12.
