Notes for Clell Igo
His WW I draft registration card, filed 5 June 1917, records Clell Igo, age 26, residence Bangor, Ky, born 28 Jan 1891 in Scranton, Ky, occupation farming, self-employed, married supporting a wife and child.

His gravestone next to Nettie’s says Clell Igo, 1893 - 1961.

There was another Clell Igo also born in Menifee Co. about one year younger, whose full name was George William McClellan Igo, and who married Ethel Perry. He was the son of William Daniel Igo and Frances Smith, and was shot to death on 8 Dec 1946 in Farmers. Many family trees on Ancestry.com confuse the two men, attaching his parents and/or death record or full name or WW I draft registration to this Clell.
Census
1900 census of Menifee Co., Ky, district 3, enumerated 20 June, lists on p. 11B as family #192:
Staton, James, 77, b. May 1823, farmer; Nancy, wife, 42, b. July 1857, married 18 years, mother of 4 children, 4 living; Igo, Clell, nephew, 9, b. Jan 1891; Martha A., niece, 7, b. June 1892. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Clell and Martha Igo are most likely nephew and niece of Nancy rather than James, because none of James’ sisters or half-sisters married an Igo, and they would have been too old to have children born in the 1890’s anyway. It is possible, though, that the relationship is loosely stated, and that James is really their great uncle, or a cousin of their parents.

1910 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Slate precinct, enumerated 15 April, lists on p. 1A as family #2:
Rowe (or Howe), Arlan, 29, farmer; Nora, wife, 25, married 7 years, mother of 2 children, 2 living; Bernice, dau, 6; Grace, dau, 5; Igo, Clell, servant, 17, farm laborer. All born Ky Ky Ky.
Notes for Nettie Alfrey
The Kentucky death index lists Nettie A. Igo, age 64, died 6 Dec 1962 in Rowan Co., residence same.

Her gravestone says Nettie Igo, 1898 - 1962, but the year of birth is off by one year, since she was listed in the 1900 census, taken on June 1, as age 7 months, born Nov 1899.
Notes for Clell & Nettie (Family)
Rowan Co., Ky marriage register A, p. 118, as I transcribed it back in 2002, records the marriage of Clell Igo and Nettie Alfrey on 21 July 1913. But Nettie would have been only 13 on that date. That seems awfully young, as well as being inconsistent with Nettie’s reported age at first marriage of 15 in the 1930 census. So I suspect that I probably misread 1915 as 1913.

Register A is just a list of names of bride and groom and date, with no other details. The marriage licenses, bonds and returns are in the numbered books.

1913 marriages would be in book 8, of which I’ve only transcribed about 15%, and 1915 marriage licenses would be in book 9, of which I’ve only transcribed about 1%.
Census
1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pearcy precinct, enumerated 24 Jan, lists on p. 8A as family #148/168:
Igo, Clellie, 28, farmer; Nettie, wife, 21; Myrtle, dau, 3; Roy, son, 1 8/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

1930 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Farmers district, McKinzie precinct, enumerated 11 April, lists on p. 1A as family #71:
Igo, Clell, 38, age at first marriage 21, farmer; Nettie, wife, 28, age at first marriage 15; Myrtle, dau, 14; Roy, son, 12; Leonard, dau, 8; Elvis, son, 6; Harry, son, 3. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The M for Leonard is crossed out and replaced by F, but probably the word ‘daughter’ should have been crossed out and replaced with ‘son’ instead.
